Fort Laramie. Post as it appeared in 1868. Orginally located as a fur trading post in 1834, known as Fort William, later as Fort John, and finally as Fort Laramie. Acquired by the Government in 1849 as a military post and abandoned in 1890. Goshen County, Wyoming.
